Product Details

Real wood brings a little of the calm of the outdoors into your bedroom. Air Wood is our wooden ottoman bed on slim tapered legs: a light, solid-looking base in real oak or walnut veneer, made to last for years, with deep storage hidden underneath.

There’s no fabric for dust to settle into, so a quick wipe keeps it clean. And its slim legs lift it 14.5cm off the floor, so most robot vacuums can clean right under the edges, where the dust collects, without you ever having to move the bed or get down on your knees.

  • Storage: 33cm deep, or 38cm with Air+.
  • Finish: real oak or walnut veneer.
  • Legs: slim tapered legs in walnut, oak, black or white.
  • Sizes: single, small double, double, king, super king and emperor, plus Euro double and Euro king. Custom sizes on request.
  • Small footprint: the frame is just 2cm, so the bed is barely bigger than the mattress.
  • Lift: opens from the end, or from the side.
  • Headboard: optional, in matching oak or walnut veneer.
  • Extras: mechanism cover, ironing board holder and mattress.
  • Made in Nottingham in our own workshop.

    We used to use solid wood
    not anymore and it's better.

    We've been making our wood beds for a long time, we used to be so proud that we used solid wood, a tree would arrive at our workshops, we'd lovingly cut, plane, sand and shape the tree into a bed, it was a beautiful thing.

    In 2019, wood prices increased so much that we had to stop offering wood beds, they were simply not affordable so we had a break, and a rethink. The reason for the increase in cost was not greedy lumberjacks, it was driven by short supply, this was a sustainability issue that we had to address. 

    After a break of almost 3 years, we re-introduced our wood beds using FSC, sustainable real wood veneers, at close inspection an expert might see a slight difference, but the quality of our beds improved significantly, it’s reduced waste by 60%, the cost is now affordable and the structure of the bed is more stable.
