1) Plastic boxes on wheels

How do you make your under-bed storage look good?

1. Separate your items, so they’re on your side of the bed. If you live with your partner, you’ll both be storing things under the bed, so keeping your items on the side you sleep on makes sense.

2. Use storage boxes or separators to organise your items. To make finding the things you need easier, store similar things together and create sections for different categories like ‘Christmas’ or ‘Baby’.

3. Label everything, so you know what’s inside your boxes. Use custom-printed labels or make your own and stick them to your boxes or bags, so you know what’s inside. It will save you a lot of time when trying to find things.

Does under-bed storage get dusty?

Rolling drawers, wicker baskets, or boxes without lids are bound to see a build-up of dust because there is nothing to stop it from getting in and settling on the contents. 

If you’re storing sentimental things that need to be kept clean, we recommend putting them inside zipped bags.

Is under-bed storage bad for Feng Shui?

Whether under-bed storage affects your bedroom’s Feng Shui is a hot topic, and the answer is not as straightforward as it seems.  

To adopt the principles of Feng Shui, you need to ensure there is a free flow of energy (chi) around your bed. When you put things under there, you risk disrupting this flow.

What really matters is what you’re planning to keep in this space. Feng Shui experts recommend only storing things related to sleep under your bed, i.e. pillows, blankets, spare bedding etc.

They discourage followers of the ancient Chinese practice from hoarding books, shoes, or sentimental memorabilia.
