The Duette sofa bed is one of our most loved designs, and it's easy to see why. It's a proper bed first — designed for real, regular use — wrapped inside a contemporary, compact sofa that earns its place in your living room on looks alone.

Because the Duette uses a 14cm mattress rather than the 18cm of our deeper models like Metro or London, the seat sits a little lower to the floor. For anyone who's not especially tall, that's a quiet gift: feet flat on the floor, easy to settle into, easy to get up from. It's a small thing that makes everyday sitting feel right.

A compact sofa bed made for contemporary rooms

The Duette sofa bed's compact silhouette and clean lines are designed for rooms where space matters. Designer details like contrast piping lift it from furniture to a piece you've genuinely chosen — not one you've settled for because it doubles as a bed.

Available in five real UK bed sizes from a Love Seat through to Super King, so you can match the sofa to the room and the bed to the guest. Hundreds of fabrics are available, including velvets, linens, leathers and recycled leathers — so the sofa fits your home, not the other way round.

“ I bought a Duette sofabed from FURL late last year and can honestly say that it is brilliant! It's my every night bed in my mother's 1 bedroom flat, where I now stay. It's incredibly comfortable to sleep on and the mechanism is easy and so quick to open and close up each day. The design is unlike any I've seen. No taking off and putting back of numerous cushions as with other sofabeds. The previous one was so hard to pull out, it began to be a serious strain on my back so I went on a long and exhaustive search for an everyday replacement. I'm so glad I managed to find this one. I chose a memory foam mattress (middle of the range I think) which is extremely comfortable and I know that if and when it needs replacing I can get a new one that will fit, something I was unable to do with the last one bought at John Lewis many years ago.
