What independent testers, Mumsnet members and our own customers say about Furl, including the one thing people don't like.

It's easy for us to say our sofa beds and beds are good. We make them. So here's what other people say, with links so you can read it for yourself.

What a Woman & Home Tester Found

Woman & Home's homes ecommerce editor spent months testing sofa beds for the magazine's best sofa beds guide. She visited our showroom to try the Tokyo Sofa Bed, found it very soft, and put that down to its 18cm mattress. She also noted how far we'll go to customise one for you.

In the guide's where-to-shop section, she sums Furl up as "the deepest, most bed-like mattresses you can buy".

What The Independent Found

The Independent's IndyBest team tested sofa beds for its best sofa beds for 2026 guide. It named our Paris Sofa Bed the best sofa bed for a bespoke design and rated it 4.5 out of 5. The testers liked the craftsmanship and the choice of mattresses. Like Mumsnet, they also said it's pricey.

What Our Customers Say

We ask every customer for a review after delivery. On REVIEWS.io we're rated 4.9 out of 5 from over 1,600 verified reviews. On Trustpilot we're rated 4.5 from 94 reviews. You can read them all, good and bad, on both sites.

Behind the Brand

Yahoo Finance featured Furl in its Behind the Brand series. It tells how Furl started in 2007, and why we train our own upholsterers in Nottingham.

The One Complaint: Price

Mumsnet members and The Independent's testers both say we're expensive. That's fair. A Furl sofa bed costs more than most. Here's what the money pays for:

  • The mattress. Four to choose from, up to 18cm deep and 2 metres long on most models. Two of our closest rivals fit 12cm and 14cm as standard.
  • The mechanism. Made for us by Lampolet in Italy. We've used it since 2007, and it's guaranteed for 5 years.
  • The build. Handmade to order in our Nottingham workshop. The arms unclip and swap in minutes, so it's easy to look after for years.
  • Built to get into your home. Most sofa beds and sofas won't fit through narrow doors or up tight staircases. Ours are delivered in sections and go through the smallest of gaps. We designed them that way from the start, never as an afterthought. If we hadn't, we wouldn't deliver as many sofa beds as we do today.
  • The service. Delivery and installation are included in mainland England and Wales. We build it in your room and take the packaging away.*

It's an amazing bed first, then a sofa. If it's going to be slept on often, or every night, that's what you're paying for.
