We don't sell VISPRING mattresses but we love them and we have huge respect for the brand - and whilst we dont sell them we do have a lot of customers who either already own a ViSpring mattress or intend to buy one.

VISPRING mattresses are hand-filled with the softest natural materials,  They make their own pocket springs that support your every roll and wriggle and they offer incredible finishes for unparalleled comfort. Every Vispring is a sleeping experience unlike anything else.

Who would not want a VISPRING Mattress?

Why are VISPRING Mattresses so Heavy?

When I was a child, one of my fondest memories was visiting my Grandparents in Yorkshire, the excitement of the visit was mostly around the beds in our room, they were huge, I remember needed a box to stand on to get on and off it the feeling of a tall bed, even as a child evoked a sense of luxury and occasion.

I also remember is they were rock hard and no fun at all to bounce on, there were no, or very few springs involved, in fact, my brother and I would have competitions as to who could pull out the longest hair from the mattress - we were later told they were made from horsehairs, which we thought was a joke, all I remember is they were very prickly!

Why am I telling you this?  Well, fast forward 20 years or so, my grandparents passed away and the beds from my room at their house made their way to mine….  Never did I realise that a mattress could be so heavy, they were only singe sizes but it felt that the horses and their hairs were still inside!    Undoubtedly they were quality mattresses to have lasted 40 years of regular use.  Quality mattress were heavy then and the remain so now, it seems quality comes at a price in Kilos!

So, why are VISPRING mattresses so heavy?   Soft natural materials may sound as light as a feather, but to make a quality mattress you need lots of them, add to that their trade mark VI gauge steel used in their mattresses, its not unusual for am mattress to weigh over 100KG!

If you're budget stretches to a VISPRING mattress you probably dont need extra storage as you probably live in a big house?   That certainly is the case for a few (some of their mattresses cost over £40,000!), but  but for the majority, I think we're all regular folk who want to sleep well.   And thats you your studio flat in Chelsea as much as a two up two down in Streatham.

Small or large homes, the need for storage is ever present, and like shoes and handbags,  you simply can't have enough!

Beds with drawers have been popular for years, but they are limited by what

you can store inside them, they are designed for bedding and thats about it.

Ottoman beds are the very best way to get meaningful extra storage in your bedroom, especially for larger items like luggage and winter ski gear. the problem is that your typical ottoman bed can't lift a heavy mattress. VISPRING sell one, and it goes with a weight warning.

We believe that good sleep is one of the most important factors for a happy long life, and just because you choose a VISPRING mattress you should not be excluded from maximising the extra space in your bedroom.

You've got the best mattress and you're sleeping really well, don't you think you deserve the bed bed base too?

Best is subjective, best for what, best for who etc.

As designers of multi-functional priducts, our definition of 'best' is a piece of furniture that does more than one thing - in fact for it to even make it onto our drawing board the idea alone has to meet that strict criteria, we also like to  design products for everyone, so we have to be quite broad in the appeal of what we make.

Imagine if we only made beds in one size, or in one colour, it would go against our core values of 'good for everyone' unless everyone slept alone and loved the colour brown.   Luckily thats not the case.

So, in designing and making our ottoman beds range, we considered who needs a bed, who needs storage and what restrictions we need to iron out (spoiler, we dont like restrictions) in designing our range of beds we made them suitable for all mattress types, all mattress weights including those which cost £40,000!

Electric Ottoman Beds for Heavy Mattresses like VISPRING

Do you remember when you used to have to open the boot of your car manually, you'd press a button to unlock it, put your shopping on the floor, and with a little effort, lift the boot upwards, then load and pull it down, the fun old days!

Its amazing how quickly we forget how it used to be, now with a press of the remote, the boot opens and closes, its this kind of technology that really does make a difference, it's useful and for some absolutely necessary.

The same goes for beds, imagine the convenience of pressing a button and the bed opening up to to give you full access to the storage area, it might be that your back is a little fragile and you are afraid to lift something heavy, thats what good technology is here for, use it to make live better.

Storage beds with this kind of mechanism can 'power lift' any weight of mattress from any brand, we've designed them this way to be available to every one.
