How Big is An Emperor Size Bed?

So how big is an Emperor-Size bed? I get asked this question an awful lot at the Furl showroom, as bed sizes can so often vary. Emperor Size though, is the largest available standard size. There aren’t many companies that make this size of bed. But you’re in luck, as we are one of the companies that do!

It’s 2 metres wide, by 2 metres long. Or 6ft 6″ wide, by 6ft 6″ long. Or at least that is the mattress size anyway. The frame of the bed will of course be a little bit larger than the mattress, but our frames are slim and only add 4cm to the width and the length. Therefore, the total bed footprint is 200cm wide x 200cm long. If an integrated headboard is included, the length would extend to 210cm, which is standard for beds accommodating a 2-meter mattress length.

What is The Difference Between an Emperor Size Bed and a Super King Bed?

An Emperor Size Bed is the largest standard-sized bed available in the United Kingdom. Measuring 7 feet by 7 feet (200cm x 200cm), whereas a Super King Bed measures 6 feet by 6 feet 6 inches (183cm x 198cm) making an Emperor Bed approximately 1 foot wider and 6 inches longer than a super king bed. Imagine sleeping in a bed that's wider and even more luxurious than a Super King Bed! 

On the other hand, the Super King Bed is perfect for average-sized bedrooms, offering the perfect balance between space and room size. It provides enough room for couples to be comfortable whilst being more budget-friendly too compared to Emperor beds.
