Look closely and you will find it. It lives in the arm — that slightly awkward profile forced by the mechanism beneath. Or in the seat depth, a touch shallower than it ought to be. Or simply in the silhouette, which sits just slightly wrong in a room that takes design seriously.

The furniture industry has spent decades trying to disguise this compromise. Furl decided to solve it instead.

The Cocoon was designed as a sofa first. The one-piece arm-and-back construction — the curve that sweeps in an unbroken line from arm through to back — is not styling applied afterwards. It is the whole philosophy of the piece.
